Buzzing into the CBD: Rooftop Bees & Investa Join Forces
Share
The Sydney skyline is changing, not just with steel and glass, but with wings and honey. In an
exciting new partnership, Rooftop Bees and Investa have brought two bustling beehives to the
rooftop of 420 George Street. With over 120,000 bees now calling this space home, this initiative
supports urban biodiversity while aligning with Investa's ambitious ESG strategy, 'Transform
Tomorrow.'
The rooftop hives are expected to produce up to 100kg of raw, hyper-local honey each year.
Tenants can now engage with nature in ways that go far beyond potted plants. As a delightful touch,
the queen bees have been named George-ina and Gertrude-a nod to the building's heritage.
Beyond the sweetness, these hives offer something deeper: a living example of corporate
sustainability, an educational opportunity for staff, and a tangible connection to the environment.
This project shows what's possible when business leaders prioritise biodiversity in urban spaces.
Rooftop Bees continues to empower companies to create greener cities.
