World Bee Day: Rooftop Bees & the Urban Pollinator Movement
Share
Every May, World Bee Day reminds us of the crucial role bees play in global food systems and
biodiversity. This year, Rooftop Bees celebrated the occasion by reflecting on the growing network
of hives they've helped install across Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane. From airport rooftops to corporate towers, these urban beehives are doing much more than making honey, they're regenerating ecosystems.
Pollinators like bees are responsible for over a third of the food we eat. Yet they face increasing
threats from pesticide use, habitat loss and climate change. Rooftop Bees' mission is to reverse this trend by helping cities become havens, not hazards, for bees.
Through partnerships with leading companies Rooftop Bees is making World Bee Day more than symbolic, it's actionable. Each new hive is a living commitment to biodiversity, education and environmental responsibility.
